Headwear for the Holidays

Your noggin is so very important and we’ve often heard all sorts of factoids about how 50% of your body heat escapes through it. So, that got us thinking and we decided to buy a new headpiece and treat ourselves this winter (again). So, here are some of the best hats we came across on our clicking and browsing adventures.

Supreme Harris Tweed Herringbone Cap

This hat by Supreme is one of their new cold weather alternatives for 2012 and comes in a range of colours, all of which have black visors. The hats all come with a tweed/herringbone base and with a Supreme logo above the peak of the hat. The choice of colours is four – green, purple, maroon and navy and they’re certainly on the short list.

A Bathing Ape x Ebbets Field Flannels Spiral Wool Cap

This spiral wool cap comes with an upside down ‘A’ and a number of lettering spirals that face downwards, a little different to the norm. It gives the hat a quite youthful look and feel. Though, at $119 it’s not cheap and you can purchase plenty of Kellan socks first.

The Undefeated Strike Starter Caps

This sneaker company has added a number of cool hats to their business to complement their footwear. Though, the sneakers are excellent, the hats have also taken a place in our hearts and the strike out design is quite unique. One of the founders is even James Bond – though not the one you think of.

Staple Design

Staple Design was founded in 1997 and has been producing these New York inspired hats since then. The prestigious brand is very street minded and we really like their stuff, which goes further than just hats mind you. However, if you’re looking for some clobber for your crown then this is a good place to start.

POC Receptor BUG Communication Helmet

Those looking for more practical clothing might just turn their heads towards POC, who’ve collaborated with Beats by Dr Dre. The helmet comes with an inbuilt remote control and microphone, which allows for calls to be taken and tracks to be changed on the in-built Beats headphones. Expect it to cost $350.

One of these and a pair of our Kellan striped socks makes the perfect gift for any loved one – grandmother’s included.
